George and Benjamin Burgess were two brothers who joined the British Royal Navy.
George Burgess, born Dec. 16, 1877 (although his service sheet shows Dec. 16, 1875), joined the Royal Navy Oct. 11, 1897 and died at the battle of Jutland May 31, 1916. Benjamin Burgess, born Dec. 9, 1876, joined the Royal Navy Jan. 26, 1898 and served 22 years, of which three were spent in Australia. | |
