TS&BY Short Line Trip to Petosky, Michigan — mid July, 2006
Bayfront Park in Petosky, Michigan
This mostly non-Amtrak shortline trip is still being worked. As of now, we will travel behind the Cardinal to Chicago and then to one of three Michigan cities to be switched to the TS&BY. Once on the TS&BY in Ann Arbor, Michigan, we will travel on short-line freight tracks at a leisurely pace, through central Michigan, on our way to Petosky. Our five- to nine-car consist will be free to stop at small towns for hour-long visits along the way. We even plan to stop the train near a city park, debark and have a traditional box lunch as our private train waits. Special trips to Mackinaw Island will be available once we arrive in Petosky. We have planned this trip for July so as to insure warm weather in northern Michigan. Our only hold up is arranging the switching from Amtrak to the short line railroad in Duran, Michigan. This promises to be a very unique private railroad experience. Rare mileage fans and historical railway buffs alike, will find something special on this trip. Make plans now to reserve your bedroom. Pricing per bed has not been established as of yet. Check our Web site for updates.

AAPRCO Convention trip to Houston, Texas
(tentative) — late September to early October, 2006
The always popular two-week annual convention trip is tentatively scheduled to be held in Houston, Texas. There's a very good chance this will be changed to either Sault St. Marie, MI. or Lake Placid, NY. The convention train which consists of up to 30 private cars always sells out. This is the yearly highlight of the private railroad world.
The convention will be outlined in detail on the AAPRCO Web site and on our site as it develops. If you've ever considered attending one of our conventions, there's no better way than to do it with the Cincinnati Railway Company. We will have five, possibly six, private cars attending, which our passengers will be free to roam. Over half of our beds are already sold to past passengers, some of whom have been with us year after year. Pricing has not yet been established but will most likely be in the $5,000 to $8,000 per person range.
Chicago 'Shop Till You Drop' — Nov. 10/12, 2006
Cincinnati-Chicago-Cincinnati
We will attempt to do the Chicago 'Shop 'Til You Drop' trip with private cars Vista Dome, Birch Grove, and/or North Star, Chapel Hill, and Oliver Hazard Perry. This year we will not make it a girls-only trip. We will attempt to market this to couples where the women will enjoy shopping while the men find something else to do. Look for more details of this trip as we get into 2006. Pricing per person will be in the $625 to $795 range.
