That D-TOUR column — Loitering with Internet

  • The dog beneath the skin was my first diary column in D>tour magazine. I was struggling to convey something of a twilight world in which some of us find ourselves living with one foot in the virtual.
  • The ballad of OrneryBob was the second diary column published by D>tour magazine. The paper version was heavily cut because D>tour was London-based and too much of the story takes place in Tijuana.
  • Roadkill on the superhighway was my third diary column submission to D>tour. Princess Diana died a few days before deadline. From initially being very positive about this sketch, the editor stopped returning my calls.
    • Nobody from Bibliotech commissioned any further columns. The magazine ceased publication some time around fall 1997.
